Kara Cole Ostewig

Recovery Coach of the Year

I am nominating Kara Cole for Recovery Coach of the year because of her commitment to the ladies she serves in the Talitha Koum house and the youth she works with at the Landing Place . A program that teaches recovery principles to youth 13-19 years old. Kara has been walking with these students for 5 years and coaching them in recovery and teaching them how to use the steps and principles in their lives . Not only for addiction but also for their mental health. Kara is using her own recovery story to help support those who are struggling. She is able to reach across culture lines and coach and support the LGBT youth and adults. She uses music and writing to help them in their recovery . She leads the the program on Wednesday night and helps lead the small groups and is the also the house manager at the TK house. She loves to take the ladies to state parks and use nature and team building to show you can enjoy life in recovery . Kara gives so much of her time to her students and the women because she knows all to well what it feels like to be alone in addiction and the shame of relapse. So out of her own story ,she is able to build relationships with her people and they trust her. She is truly a blessing to both organizations of Talitha koum women's recovery house .
