Connie Young

Mental Health Professional

When we talk about heroes in mental health, we often talk about people working with addictions, or people who have overcome addictions. In this case, Connie Young has been an advocate for thinking about mental health before we ever get to the age where addiction can take hold. The more we, as a community, can push for early care, education, and mental health, the better off our future adults will be. Our goal has always been to empower families in how to teach, advocate for and support their children and themselves. Many of our families have their own early childhood traumas that they need to overcome. Connie has been a huge advocate for training and supporting all professionals working with children. She understands that our providers often have to deal with their own traumas before they are able to support others. She wants the professionals to have a place to discuss everyday concerns so it does not impact their work. She advocates for, and on behalf of, reflective supervision for all. Connie had a wide network of professionals she works with on a daily basis. She is always open and caring. She goes above and beyond her work duties to make sure that others are worrying about their own mental health and being supported. She searches out individualized trainings and help for specific people and families. Connie is always available to assist and support anyone who asks. Connie Young has been a very passionate advocate for mental health for years. She supports starting mental health education early on for children and families. She promotes awareness of issues plaguing families, and assists in helping find support for them. She collaborates with professionals to help find ways to advance their knowledge and own mental health. Connie Young is a mental health hero.
