Wexford of Indiana Regional Behavioral Health Team

Mental Health Team

It is my honor to nominate the Wexford of Indiana Regional Behavioral Health Team for the Mental Health Heroes Award from Mental Health of America. This team is comprised of Ms. Kaela Allen, Dr. Deanna Dwenger, Mr. Jayson Harvey, Ms. Laketta Hubert, Dr. Ellen Keris, and Dr. Crystal Mehta. Each of these individuals plays an integral role in the daily clinical and administrative operations of all behavioral health services for the entire Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC). Although their areas of expertise are specialized for psychiatry, psychology, substance abuse, and reentry into the community, they function as a highly integrated team to serve their patients/clients with the very best care. They oversee each of IDOC’s site behavioral health teams, as well as the reentry teams in the community, in order to provide streamlined interventions for the greatest possible outcomes. Each member of this team has enormous impact, not only on the lives of their patients/clients, but on the respective families, communities, and IDOC facilities. They have collectively improved processes for each of the following areas: the suicide prevention policy, the implementation of MAT, involuntary medication interventions, and coordination of release planning. It is with great pride and awe that I would like to recognize this team as they exemplify the values of Wexford Health by raising the standard.
